In our country more than 23,000 youth age out of foster care each year. For these youth who have been living in foster care, the transition to life outside of care presents many new and often daunting experiences. These young adults may face challenges as they search for affordable housing, pursue higher education or training, look for jobs, manage on tight budgets, take care of their health needs, and much more.

Thursday, August 23, 2018, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (Eastern)

 

This webinar will provide information on demographics, permanency, engagement and well-being as associated with families dealing with incarceration. Professionals will be provided with information and ideas to offer an opportunity for professionals to decide what is best regarding specific cases.

 

The training will discuss the questions of whether it is beneficial for children to visit their incarcerated parents as well as how to implement the updated case planning policy, ways to locate incarcerated parents and visitation.

Additionally, answers will be provided to the questions shared during previous online discussion groups.

2018 DCF Child Protection Summit,

The Florida Department of Children and Families is pleased to announce the 2018 Child Protection Summit. The annual Summit is the largest child welfare event in Florida, and the department anticipates the convening of more than 3,000 child welfare professionals and related partners, including attorneys, case managers, child advocates, child protective investigators and supervisors, Child Protection Team staff, child welfare trainers, court staff, DCF staff, relative caregivers, foster and adoptive parents, guardians ad litem, judges, law enforcement, juvenile justice professionals, service providers, and youth.

Families First Child Welfare Symposium,
