Toddler Immunization Month

""

Young children are at increased risk for infectious diseases because their immune systems have not yet built up the necessary defenses to fight serious infections and diseases. As a result, diseases like whooping cough, measles, mumps and the seasonal flu can be very serious for infants and young children. Early childhood vaccines are one of the best ways to protect your child from serious diseases that can be especially dangerous for infants and very young children.

QPI FL Live Webinar: A Relentless Pursuit towards Permanency: Tools and Skills to Help Children Achieve Permanency, Thursday, May 31, 2018, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (Eastern)

The Permanency Values training is designed to explore the importance of permanency and create a sense of urgency around achieving permanency for youth in out-of-home care. Permanency can provide stability and lifelong support for youth in care. However, achieving permanency for older youth with multiple placements over multiple years in care is frequently challenging. This training provides a compelling case for permanency, and effective tools and strategies to increase the likelihood of achieving permanency for older youth.

I Take it Back: Winning Your Case with a Recanting Witness, Friday, June 1, 2018, 2:00pm - 3:30pm (Eastern)

Presented by: Mary-Ann Burkhart, Director of the National Center for Prosecution of Child Abuse at the National District Attorney’s Association.

Recantation is a common component in prosecuting cases of child abuse and, too often, the mistaken belief is that recantation signals the end of a successful prosecution. This presentation will focus on ways to analyze the dependency case with an eye toward preventing recantation, investigating reports of recantation if it does occur, and explaining recantation to a judge to rehabilitate your victim’s credibility.
