The recent Child and Family Services Review (CFSR) revealed that the state is above the national average for abuse while a child is in out of home care. This objective was driven by safety concerns for children in care and the corresponding requirement for a Program Improvement Plan. This objective also aligns with the current Priority of Effort as outlined by Secretary Carroll, namely: Assure Quality Child Welfare Placement Settings.

The Florida Department of Children and Families is pleased to announce the 2017 Child Protection Summit. This year marks the Summit’s 20th year anniversary.
